Training "The crime of genocide worh a focus on the forced transfer of children and direct and public incitement to genocide" for the Office of the Prosecutor General
On April 6-7, 2023, in partnership with the Prosecutor`s Training Center of Ukraine and The Auschwitz Institute for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities, we conducted a training "The Crime of Genocide. Forced transfer of children and incitement" for the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The training was devoted to the following topics:
- conceptual understanding of the constituent elements of the crime of genocide;
- specifics of investigating the crime of genocide in Bosnia and Cambodia;
- the difference between genocide and other grave international crimes;
- incitement to genocide as a separate crime, comparison of national and international standards;
- displacement of children as an act of genocide.
A workshop was also held to develop strategic communication skills on topics related to the crime of genocide.

- Anna Vyshniakova - legal analyst, head of the NGO "LingvaLexa";
- Joseph Andrew Boyle - Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia;
- Patricia Walen - former judge in the Bosnian genocide trials;
- Kateryna Busol - lawyer, senior lecturer at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy;
- Jocelyn Heigen Kestenbaum - Faculty Director of the Cardozo Law Institute in Holocaust and Human Rights at the Cardozo School of Law;
- Inna Zavorotko - representative of the Legal Support Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
