LingvaLexa: Results of OSINT work in 2024
Assisting law enforcement agencies with OSINT investigations is an integral part of LingvaLexa's work. In 2024, our team:
- Conducted more than 30 practical trainings
We conducted more than 30 on-site trainings on cybersecurity, information hygiene and OSINT investigation methodology, including for the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipro, Chernihiv and Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Offices; the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the High Council of Justice, the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors, and the High Qualification Commission of Judges. As part of our training, participants were introduced to tools for searching by name, mobile phone, photos, social media, as well as tools for business, working with state registers, GEOSINT, etc. - Provided more than 100 individual consultations
It is impossible to cover all the issues during the training due to the limited time and the inability to fully personalise the approach to each proceeding or request of each participant. That is why our experts provide individual consultations, during which they answer specific questions on how to apply a particular tool in a particular case. This includes searching for personal data of war criminals, circumstances of war crimes, verification of the data found, etc. - Assisted in crime investigations
LingvaLexa experts have joined the work of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in almost 120 criminal proceedings related to war crimes, collaboration and criminal propaganda. All the necessary information was passed on to law enforcement agencies to form the necessary evidence base to ensure punishment. - Developed practical instructions
Our team has prepared useful recommendations on setting up a working infrastructure for OSINT investigations, choosing the best tools for finding specific information and using them correctly. - Created an educational platform for law enforcement training
The platform contains 13 short lessons that provide practical information on the application of the OSINT methodology. During the course, students learn different ways to search for information, the basic principles of cybersecurity and online hygiene, how to circumvent certain restrictions on access to data, etc. More information about the platform is available here: Educational platform
Our experts also served as mentors at the National OSINT Hackathon, an event aimed at bringing together various government agencies to develop Ukraine's capacity to effectively bring war criminals to justice.
This year was important and productive. We are pleased to have been able to contribute to security and justice in Ukraine. We are grateful to everyone who works with us and continue to move forward!
