Practical guide “OSINT in the Investigation of Crimes Related to the Forced Displacement and Disappearance of Children”
This practical guide was developed by the LingvaLexa team in cooperation with the OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine and the Training Center of Prosecutors of Ukraine as part of the specialized training course on the use of OSINT in investigations related to the forced transfer and disappearance of children.
The guide provides a curated set of verified tools and step-by-step methodologies for searching, collecting, analysing, and conducting in-depth verification of information from open sources. It brings together services for reverse image search and the analysis of digital data based on photographs, research into Russian legal entities and government contracts, verification of Telegram accounts, and identification of individuals using phone numbers or usernames. A separate section focuses on browser extensions and utilities for securely organising the research environment, protecting privacy, and minimising the researcher’s digital footprint.
